Charlie, owner and founder of Very PETicular Petcare specialises in 1-2-1 training & behavioural therapy. 1-2-1 sessions in your home will allow you the time and space to devote to working together, as well as allowing Charlie to carefully and properly evaluate the issues specific to your dog. Charlie constantly strives for excellence within the dog training world and she keeps abreast of new methods and techniques. Charlie will ask new clients a number of questions before hand to help her build up a good idea of what is the root cuase of your pets' problem and from this, she can devise a specialised 1-2-1 training program for you. Sessions usually last a good couple of hours, for which you will receive a certificate for all your hard work-you will have earned it! Charlie does not use a particular method, but understands that each dog behaves and learns differently to the next so will adapt various methods in order to gain trust, understanding and respect between dog and owner. She can teach you how to teach your dog!

She upholds the belief that positive rewards promote positive behaviour. Training your puppy/dog should be holistic and lifelong and urges owners to keep up with their hard work during training sessions for the rest of their dogs' life. Charlie can help you with anything concerning your dog: from choosing a puppy and helping with it's socialisation and obedience training, to helping with barking, biting, pulling, jumping up, chasing, aggression, O.C.D.'s and so on. She can also help you with your cats and other pets!

Charlie says, " The new, eagerly aniticipated Animal Welfare Bill, will be vital in helping save animals' lives. As a dog behaviourist, I am becoming increasingly upset at the recent spate of dog attacks on young children and media publicity over certain breeds. As an owner of much maligned English Bull Terriers, I made sure I was experienced, mature and well aware of the breed I chose before I purchased one and I took their training very seriously. When seeing other owners with dogs who are snarling and barking at my dogs and other dogs in my care it does make me feel really sad. However, I then feel appreciative of having such well behaved dogs myself, who never fight back, welcome other dogs into their home and always greet people and pets with enthusiasm. Best and friendliest dogs I have ever had. ANY bullie owner would tell you the same of their dog! Training is the key, proper professional training. The new Bill will mean that dog owners are responsible for their dogs' behaviour and welfare, so hopefully the lives of children and dogs will be saved. Please, Judge the Deed not the Breed. While dogs are an instinctive pack animal, we must remember that they learn from their parents, litter mates and then, owners! So please, get your dogs trained to behave well in our human world and never leave ANY dog unsupervised with children!"

Dog and puppy training can occasionally be incorporated into dog walking or dog boarding if required, to help those with busy lives or simply unable to attend classes. This service is gaining popularity, please book early to avoid disappointment.

All prices are inclusive. Mileage may be added at 25p per mile. Discounts may be available for regular custom. Fees are required up front & in full at the time of booking and refunds are NOT available.
