Pet Sitting Services Offered by Very PETicular Petcare

Very PETicular Petcare is always in high demand for it's services, so we advise to book early to avoid disappointment. Most of our loyal clients wait to book their holiday until they have confirmed their desired dates with their pet-sitter! Here is a list of the services we provide and we tailor the service to meet individual requirements. If you are unsure of what we can do for your own pets needs then just ask, we are always happy to help. Due to changes in staffing, not all services are available, we apologise for any disappointment caused however do get in touch so that we can recommend an alternative.

Dog Boarding 

This consists of doggy day care for sociable dogs and older puppies discretionary to the individual pet-sitter. This is ideal if you just fancy a day out without your dog or if you have work commitments etc. Early booking is advised but established clients can call anytime to see if we have availability. Numbers are strictly limited.

Sleepovers are great for when you go away on holiday and want to leave the dog somewhere where they will be cared for as one of the family, within the pet-sitters own home; no kennels! We can sometimes accommodate dogs from more than one family for over night boarding and any boarding dogs whether for doggy day care or sleepovers needs to be very sociable and house-trained as there may be other dogs present for some or all of their stay with us.

We aim to provide as comfortable, carefree and fun a time as you would in safe and sensible surroundings so that when you return your dogs are tired, yet relaxed and happy.

Dog Walking (currently unavailable)

If you have work commitments, school duties, board meetings, golf tournaments, spa bookings, hospital appointments etc and you prefer your dog to stay at home or they are not so sociable, elderly or convalescing then this is an ideal solution. Walks can tailored to meet your individual needs from just a few minutes to an hour or so. We don't walk dogs on choke chains, half chokes or slip leads. This is not intended to offend owners but to protect from injury to your dog please click here. Also if your dog consistently pulls the dog walker then visits may be postponed until this rectified; this is to prevent injury to our staff as well as your dog and again is not intended to offend owners. Katie can help with dogs which pull on the lead. Please provide plenty of poo bags as it's the law to pick up after your dog, a collar, harness, lead and ensure the tags are up to date.

Pet, Kitten, Puppy Visits

Some pets prefer to stay at home while their owners are away. We find that cats definitely prefer their own territory and are often much more relaxed staying at home rather than going to a cattery. Other pets which prefer home may include rabbits, reptiles, fish, birds, dogs, puppies, kittens etc. So if you are out for the day and would like a member of Very PETicular Petcare to pop in to feed and cuddle your puppy or let him outside for toilet break, then we are happy to help. Or should your cats want to stay home while you play on holiday then we can come in a feed them and entertain them as often as you like.

Even if your adult dog wants to stay at home and prefers to play ball in the garden while you are at work then we can do that too. Medicating your pet is not a problem, if they need a daily groom then we can do that too. Cleaning out cages, hutches, litter trays, lights and curtain rotation, watering houseplants etc is all included in our fees, just give full instructions to your pet sitter and provide plenty of the items necessary to care for your pet or home while you are away.

Pet Boarding

This service is ideal should you wish your small pet (hamster, chinchilla, rabbit, guinea pig etc) to have the same kind of 24 hour care as they would enjoy at home. Our pet-sitters will give your pet all the attention they could want. Fees are charged by the cage not the pet making this a very economical service. Please provide your pets nutritional requirements and bedding.

Pet Taxi (currently unavailable)

Ideal should you find yourself without transport and needing to get to the vets, groomers, house moves etc. Staff are insured to transport your pets in their vehicles. There is often no need to make a prior booking but it is advised to avoid disappointment especially in the busy seasons such as school holidays.

Dog Behaviour and Training consulations

As mentioned Katie is a qualified dog trainer and behaviourist. She can assist you, your dogs and puppies with any problem no matter how big or small. Katie uses only kind, modern and scientifically based methods and techniques, no coercive or abusive methods. If you want old school dog training then Katie is not the trainer for you. Canine First Aid Courses 

Absolutely fabulous courses which teach anyone aged over 16 the skills to provide canine first and secondary aid.

House Sitting 

Our staff can stay overnight in your home, sometimes at short notice. This is especially wonderful for those who live with a lot of pets, making it a more cost effective way of going on holiday or those occasional times when you need to be away from home, or for those whose pets prefer being at home with round the clock care such as invalid pets, elderly pets, expensive property or those who suffer from separation anxiety complex and so on. Staff will be in your home overnight, keeping it as secure as possible.
